Wordle

Linda Straube found another great tool for those word freaks who like to analyze Candidate Speeches and Campaign rhetoric.

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Use the advanced google search to find Speech Clouds others' have made.[exact phrase "mccain speech" and Search within a site or domain: type in wordle.net] You can also generate your own word clouds and track political blogs by simply entering a blog URL. Give it a whirl. For example, to CREATE one (click on create) Then, for Daniel who likes the RealClear Politics blog I would just paste that URL in: http://time-blog.com/real_clear_politics/2008/09/abc_news_half_view_palin_favor.html in the box and Wordle will generate a word cloud when you hit SUBMIT.

See my results which I saved to their gallery.

Chrome - the new web browser from Google

Chrome is an open-source minimalist browser with no status bar, no menu bar and only a single tool bar. David Pogue reviews it in today's New York Times: "Minimalist Chrome Is Built for a Future That Blurs the Lines of Web and Desktop".

Linda Straube found the YouTube video: "10 Features of Google's Chrome"

Listen and learn about all the smart features. It is available for download at google.com/chrome
