"Apple hasn't quite delivered on the promise of the 'post-PC world' yet with the iPad."

A thoughtful examination of the iPad from ReadWrite Web: "Two Years With the iPad:  Was it Worth it?"

Did the early adopters get their money's worth?

"Consume-Only":  This is the most worrisome thing in terms of adopting this in a 1:1 model for schools.  Why not just get inexpensive laptops?

From:   / March 15, 2012
"Most of my iPad usage is read-only. That is, I use Reeder extensively to skim RSS/Atom feeds. I browse the Web anywhere in the house. I play games, read eBooks and watch movies. But for creating content? Not so much."
As RWW founder Richard MacManus wrote last year in his conclusion, the iPad "really is about consumption."
Another thing, if I were to buy one, I wouldn't consider getting it without the 3G connectivity.  My Kindle Fire is pretty worthless away from home.  I would expect that the same is true of the iPad without 3G/LTE functionality (which they are apparently overcharging for!).

Prezi for the iPad Has Arrived

The Prezi Community has been begging for an iPad version. Prezi has now released its fabulous presentation software for the iPad tablet. iPad doesn’t support Flash, so not all existing presentations can be viewed in full if they contain Flash material such as videos.
When using the new version please consider the following:
  1. Prezi for the iPad app allows you to show prezis that were previously created on your computer. The app does not have editor features.
  2. YouTube videos, PDF and SWF files does not work in the current version of Prezi for the iPad.
  3. When you open a prezi for the first time on your iPad, it can take a while to load depending on the size of your prezi. Even big prezis load super quick for the second run.
Download Prezi for the iPad app from the iTunes app store!http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/prezi/id407759942

Mossberg: Reading With the iPad's E-Reader Apps

Let's let Walt Mossberg speak for himself as he reviews e-reader apps for the iPad in today's Wall Street Journal (may have a 15 second intro to his ~4 minute talk):

We should be experiment with these apps. I am curious about others' experience with reading on a Kindle vs. and iPad. Do you agree with Mossberg that the iPad is a "very good e-reader" or are you someone who prefers dedicated e-reader hardware like a Kindle or Nook?

iPad Keynote in less than 180 Seconds: Incredible, Beautiful, Amazing!

It'll be really great when the price comes down! When other competitors drive down the cost of ebooks they will become ubiquitous, and the real cheering will begin. Right now, ipad is causing the price of ebooks to go up. However, some predict the ipad will kill the Kindle.
